Kaduna U-19 Barracks Volleyball: Nimrod Orders Assembling Of Bayonet Spikers In Abuja

Following the impressive talent noticed in the Bayonet Spikers of Jaji who finished as runners up at the second edition of Kaduna Inter Barracks U-19 Volleyball Championship, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod has directed that the players should be assembled in Abuja for grooming.

He gave the directives, after being impressed by their performance at the championship meant to boost the game among children of military personnel in Kaduna, which ended last weekend at the Kotoko Barracks.

“Thank you all for your prayers and support. In particular the Bayonet young players need our encouragement.  

“I see another new set of young under 17 national team. We need them. On that basis l requested Coach Elisha Elam to assemble them for a training match in Abuja with Defence Spikers and Scorpion Spikers,” he told members of the Kaduna State Basketball Association (KADSVA), on Tuesday January 24.

In a related development, Nimrod  who is also the Chairman of KADSVA, ordered the secretary of the association, Forence Yori to kickstart process of raising funds for two board members who were on admission following Ill health.

“Secretary organise how we can contribute for the little hospital bill of the two coaches in the hospital,” he said.

The secretary had earlier called for prayers for the two coaches on admission.

“Good morning everyone in the house. I hope you all rested well. A gentle appeal, two of our coaches are hospitalized in Kano. Coach Danjay and Coach Lawrence can we raise some funds to support them please. Thank you,” she appealed.

Meanwhile, one of the coaches late announced that he had recovered and had been discharged.

“Good afternoon all. I wish to express my heart felt gratitude to you all for your prayers, calls and financial support while I was admitted and operated upon. I wish to inform you that, God has done it again, I have been discharged from the hospital. To God be praise forever,” Coach Danjuma said.
