Kaduna State Vigilance Service Bill 2015 scales 2nd reading
By; Samson Yaki, Kaduna.
The Bill for the law to establish Kaduna State Vigilance Service 2015 in the State House of Assembly has received the blessings of the Legislators in its second reading.
The Bill, if eventually passed, will establish a full fledged Vigilante Security outfit in the state that will work to protect and preserve public utilities, maintain law and order in all social gatherings and to carry out, from time to time, other duties assigned by the State Government as well assisting the Police and other security agencies in the protection of lives and properties.
Speaking during the deliberations, Honourable Doctor Isaac Auta Zinkai representing Kauru/Chawai constituency in the House, expressed concern on the necessity and importance of the bill if and when passed into Law.
He said, “the duty of any government is first to secure the lives and properties of its people before it can administer any progressive achievement”.
Doctor Zinkai therefore called on the House to support the bill and pass it into Law with a speed of light.
Speaking to Journalists thereafter, the Vigilante Deputy Commandant in the state Mr Joseph Kaura expressed delight on the manner with which the bill is receiving the attention of the House and assured the public that the Vigilante Service will work towards securing peace and security of the state.
