Kaduna State Providing Equal Opportunity For Women

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Architect  Barnabas Bala Bantex on Thursday said that the gender equality in the state is to ensure maximum corporation among  women.

He stated this when the delegation of UN Women Country came on a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Thursday in Kaduna.

The meeting aims to discuss Financial Inclusion and Literacy, Residency Registration, Procurement and Political Participation of Women in Kaduna State

According to him,  this is a goal that deal with gender equality to empowered the women in the state.

He said the state government is willing to partner with the UN country, and commended them for their efforts towards making the women in the state to benefit from their programme.

In a remark, UN Women Country Representative, Mrs Comfort Lamptey, said they were in Kaduna to provide support to women in the state.

She said,  they have partner with Sterling Bank to support and provide loan for women in the state for empowerment.

She noted that, their finding proved that a lot of women are willing and excited to participate in their programme.

She explained that, some women are ready but need to seek for the support of their husband before they will fully participate.

She added that,  some of the challenges encounter is financing and mobility, when a woman is empowered you have actually achieved the objective, she said.

The team has representation from NIMC, Afrigrants women, Zamani Foundation and MasterCard Foundation.
