Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria(IMN), known as Shi’ites, stormed Kaduna High Court  on Wednesday on a case of alleged distribution of its schools and properties it filed against Nuhu Mohammed, the Marafan Nasarawa and Co.
The movement was represented in the court by six counsels led by Barrister Auta Maisamari as their lead counsel to prosecute the defendant, Marafan Nasarawa.
Plaintiff’s counsel told journalists in an interview that he filed a Motion on behalf of his client on 6th February against the defendant over the destruction of Shi’ites school and properties but have hitherto not been mentioned.
He said “The Islamic school has been in existence for over 35 years, dispensing moral and sound  religious knowledge to its students without any report against their conduct or land ownership problems.
“All of a sudden, the school was attacked over night by the defendant, we have people that saw them during the attack, they looted the school and burnt it down”, he said.
According to him they are praying the court to declare it wrongful, and made them to pay for the action of the defendant for attacking and pulling down school buildings and properties destroyed, adequately.
The plaintiff counsel however expressed dismay that the case  filed since February could not be mention till date, as defendant counsel had continue to adjournment the matter in writing on ground that he was attending a case in High Court in Kano.
The presiding Judge, Justice M. L. Mohammed has adjourned the matter for 4th May for mentioning unfailingly based on verbal application made by the plaintiff counsel.
