Kaduna Railway Market inferno: Senator Shehu Sani donates 1m to victims
 By; Bashir Bello, Kaduna.
Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani has donated the sum of 1million naira to victims of the Railway Station Market fire incident in Kaduna.
Senator Sani made the donation when he visited the victims to sympathise with them at the razed market in Kachia road, Kaduna South Local Government Area.
Addressing the crowd at the market, Senator Sani also pledged to sponsor to school, kids of those who died in the fire incidence for two years.
He blamed the fire incidence on the Nigerian Railway Corporation for relocating the traders from their original site and just a stone throw away from the current location.
According to him, “the market is an historic market, no one living in Kaduna that has not benefitted from the market. So I’m here to sympathize with you over the unfortunate incident that affected all of us in Kaduna South and not only you.
“As a Senator representing this zone, I have written a letter to Minister of Transportation and asking him to send representative to see things for themselves. The only assistance they can offer you is for you to relocate back to your original place.
“The place has been abandoned and now taken over by snakes and weeds. The best is for the management of Railway Station to relocate you back to your original place because this place is congested.
“As for the deceased who lost his life in the fire inferno, I will sponsor the kids for two years,” he said.
He appealed to the traders to avoid anything in future that could lead to the occurrence of such disaster.
