Motivated by the word of God he professes, he believes that when you give to the poor, you are giving to God and that makes him see himself as a fulfilled man and a priest.

His name is Chidi Nete, the Senior Prophet of the Immortality International Gospel Centre, Kaduna, a philanthropist and founder of Immortality Givers Foundation Worldwide. His ministry  has been feeding the poor for about 14 years nonstop.

The testimonies of those who have been benefitting from his kind gesture are enormous, he is practically becoming one of them, judging by the reception any time he shows up in their community. He is familiar with almost everyone there.

As usual, he paid a surprise but regular visit to destitute people sent packing from Kano Road by the Kaduna State Government at their new place of refuge along Hadeja Road, beside Kano Road Central Mosque in Kaduna city, where he fed 290 persons with delicious meals.

Apart from providing them with the meals and drinks, Chidi, who is popularly known as Prophetic Nete, left the homeless destitute people who are mainly those that have suffered leprosy, the lame, the blind and street beggars known as Almajiris, amongst others with a message of hope of providing them a home to live in someday.

In his words, “as i am talking to you now in my ministry we have so many widows, so many orphans, that we are taking care of in our own little ways and we are believing God that any moment from now, we are going to have a foundation and the foundation is going to be for both Muslims and Christians, irrespective of their tribe, wherever you are coming from, once you are less privileged in the society, we are going to adopt you take care of you.

“We have plans of building a place for people like this in the future where we can be father to them, family to them, husband, mother and sister to them. Most of them are looking for love and it is only when they see people like us around, that they can be happy and they will feel the sense of belonging.”

One of the beggars, an aged woman, Hadiza Mohammed, who could only express herself through prayers for the Prophet, prayed that God will not turn his back in anything he does and wherever he finds himself.

She noted that for a very long time, the Man of God has been coming around to help them, praying God to help him to be able to reach out to more of their people who are now living in other locations.

“Government need to learn from this man and do something about us, if not for people like this who usually visit us, life would have become unbearable.” Hadiza, added.

Hauwa Abdulmumini, another member of the destitute community, said “government have been promising us for a long time since they sent us out of our place and we have been filling different forms, yet nothing has happened.

“But this Prophet will come to us unannounced every time and will provide us and our people food to eat. Government should emulate what he is doing and make life better for us.”.

On why he will not stop providing help for the poor, Prophetic Nete, said “one of the things that makes me happy is when i find myself in the midst of the poor. Anytime I take care of the poor I feel that am fulfilling purpose in life, we are here for no reason apart from to take care of the poor.

“When you go to the book of Psalm 41, the Bible says ‘Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.’ The Lord will take care of him even when he is in need. The best time you can find yourself doing the will of God, is when you take care of people like this that you are better than.

“As you can see around us today some of them are blind, some of them are crippled, some are leprous, some  can’t even fend for themselves, we are the hand of the poor, we are eyes of the blind we are the legs to the crippled and anytime you take care of this people you are indirectly representing God on earth.

“So my motivation is from the scripture just as I have rightly quoted. We are not alive to make money and take care of ourselves, no matter how much you have, one day you are going to leave here. No matter whatever you have accumulated one day you are going to leave here.

“But this are legacy we are talking about, something that can leave after you. you are a bishop, you are a prophet, you are whatever if you have not been able to take up this responsibility of taking care of the poor, which is the primary assignment of every child of God, taking care of the poor, the destitute, the less privileged in the society.

“When one of the disciple asked Jesus  question and Jesus answer, he said “when I was hunger you refuse to feed me and they asked him a question and he responded to them again that those poor beggars that are coming to beg you for food daily, they are the Jesus that you are talking about”.

“Jesus talked about love in every dimensions every Christian must leave an exemplary life of sharing whatever you have with others, taking care of the people that you are better than. If you are a Christian and your love is not being extended to our brothers or extended to other people, you have not started.

“You have to take responsibility of taking care of other people and that is when you will fulfil the purpose and obligation of God.”
