Kaduna Police Confirms Bomb Explosion In Kabala West, Another Attempt In Romi

The Kaduna Police Command has confirmed that a bomb explosion took place at Kabala West area of Kaduna metropolis while another was safely detonated at Romi axis in Chikun Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige, dated March 1, 2022.
“On the 27th February, 2022 at about 2130hrs the Kaduna Police Command received a report through Divisional Police Officer Kabala West of an explosion caused by suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Dorino Hotel situated along Gidado Jumare Street Kabala west Kaduna.
“The explosion caused a minimal damage to the Hotel external wall as well as the drainage system. No casualty of any sort as the said hotel was not operating as at the time of the heinous incident since there is an existing operational ban placed on the hotel by the Kaduna State Urban Planning Development Agency (KASUPDA),” it said.
The statement said that the Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, CP Mudassiru Abdullahi psc (+) upon receiving of the report; immediately dispatched the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit to the scene to carry out a forensic analysis of the incident. 
“The CP equally visited the scene for an on the spot assessment and ordered a continuous surveillance patrols across the State to forestall future occurrence,” it said.
It informed that in another development, on the same date at about 2230hrs the Command also received information about another suspected IED placed at Larry Breeze Bar located at Romi area of Chikun LGA, Kaduna State where a crowd of football enthusiasts were watching a match.
On the strength of the information, logistics and men were immediately mobilized to cordon the entire location while the EOD unit acted promptly in diffusing the said IED.
The CP is urged residents of the state to report any suspicious object to the nearest security formation. 
He also advised the general public to go about their normal businesses as there is no cause for alarm. 
“Investigation into the two separate incidents has since commenced to unravel the behind the scene faces of those hells bent on putting apprehension in the minds of law abiding citizens,” it concluded.
