Gwandara communiyy in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State has noted that the only way to promote peace, unity and harmonious coexistence of the people in the area is to create Gwandara Chiefdom out of Numana Chiefdom.
The Gwandara people observed that the incessant attacks by unknown gunmen in most of the villages in the community in recent times that resulted in the death of hundreds of innocent people and the destruction of property worth millions of naira could be attributed to lack of leadership among the Gwandara people.
The National Public Relations Officer of the Gwandara Development Association, Mr Bawa Nuhu told New Nigerian in Kaduna that “the creation of the Chiefdom will no doubt reduce insecurity especially the incessant attacks by unknown gunmen in most of the villages in the community.
“The Gwandara community cut across two local governments, Sanga and Jema’a with a high population density believing that creating the Gwandara Chiefdom will beef the security network of the area,” he observed.
The spokesman said, “Several memos have been submitted to the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, to kindly attend to the Gwandara’s request.”
He said the Gwandara people are predominantly farmers, traders and peace loving people, adding that creating the chiefdom will speedy the development of the entire community.
