People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to use legal means to reclaim mandate as the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) Senator Uba Sani received certificate of return as governor-elect of Kaduna State.

Kaduna State Chairman of the party,  Felix Hassan Hyat insisted that candidate of PDP, Isa Ashiru Kudan won the March 18 election, expressing regrets that  the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in connivance with APC, doctored  results of the exercise to give undeserved victory to Uba Sani.

He disclosed that the party has already commenced legal process by applying to the electoral umpire in Abuja to review the state governorship election.

“It was glaring that the results on INEC server which gave victory to our candidate was not used to arrive at a true winner of the contest, robbing our party and people of state by announcing APC candidate as winner of the election in cohort with some  unpatriotic elements within the electoral commission.

“We rose from State Executive Council Meeting (SEC) with resolution to pursue through legal means all constitutional allowed avenues to retrieve our stolen mandate.

“I want to call on our teeming supporters to remain calm and be prayerful as We explore all legal means to retrieve the true mandate of the people.

“There were massive jubilations all over the state in anticipation of announcing our candidate as winner but happiness of kaduna people was truncated by declaring Uba Sani as the winner.

“This will not stand because Uba Sani did not win the election from all available facts and figures in our custody which shall be made available to the public in due time, “he assured.

Speaking on conduct  of some returning officers whom he accused of acts unbecoming of academia, Mr. Hyat lampooned returning officer for Lere Local Government Area Professor Ladi Adamu of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) whom he accused of allowing herself as a willing tool by politicians to rig and manipulate results of the governorship and state assembly exercise.

He said Prof. Ladi would be called to testify at election tribunal to state how she was used to announce a false result.

He urged the professor of Mass Communication to borrow a leaf from her counterpart in Abia State who resisted to dance to the tune of the power that be to misappropriate mandate of the people.

Meanwhile, governor-elect of Kaduna State and his running mate Senator Uba Sani and Hadiza Balarabe were on Friday March 31 presented with their certificates of return by National Commissioner of INEC Mohammed Haruna.

Elected members of Kaduna state House of Assembly also got their certificates of return.

A total of 32 members, with 20 and 12 seats going to APC and PDP respectively, while four seats in Sanga, Kudan, Kaura and Giwa East were declared inconclusive.
