*Kaduna Athletics Assoc chairman lauds athletes

Enoch Frank of Coach George Club ran a blistering 11.89s to win the Kaduna U-15 National Youth Games trials 100m boys title, as Nwueze Zoko also of Coach George Club won the female version in 13:07s.
Ahmed Faruk of C/George Club won the long sprint double gold medals in boys 200m and 400m, while Peniel Daniel of CFASF also made it a double title in the girls high jump and long jump. Gabriel Inusa of Flying Horse Club won the boys 100m silver in 12.09s, while Isaac Eze ran 13.20s to win bronze. Schorlastical Obi of CFASF was second in the girls 100m race in 13.41s, as Annabel Buka of C/George Club won bronze in 13.79s.
Ahmed Faruk ran 24.08s to win the boys 200m ahead of Gabriel Inusa who ran 24.09s and Ibrahim Saidu of C/George Club who ran 25.16s. Faruk ran 53.49s to win the quarter-mile race ahead of Ismail Lawal of Kada (54.12s) and Ibrahim Saidu (55.06s). The girls 200m race went to Schorlastical Obi who ran 26.59s to beat Philemon Juliet of C/George (27.67s) and Godiya James of Flying Horse (28.89s).
Peniel Daniel of CFASF jumped a height of 1.45m to win the girls high jump, while leaping a distance of 4.94m in the long jump was enough to earn her double gold medals. Stephanie Obiekwu was second in the long jump with 4.40m, as Nwueze Zoko doubled her podium appearances with long jump bronze (4.38m). Emmanuel Azubuike won the boys high jump after scaling 1.52m, while Sabiu Alamin jumped 1.35m for the second position.
Speaking after the event, Chairman of Kaduna State Athletics Association (KAA), Hon. Sani Abbas lauded the athletes and coaches for their performance, he tasked those that would be selected to give good representation for the state, while pledging that the Athletics Association in Kaduna state is set for a glorious performance to help the state reclaim it’s lost glory locally and nationally.
