Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Kaduna State, Honourable Isa Ashiru has promised to take the indebtedness of the state seriously if elected into office.

He made the pledge at an interactive parley with journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)  Secretariat, Kaduna on Wednesday November 23, 2022.

According to him, Kaduna State ranks amongst the most indebted states in the country with a loan (debt) burden of 547 million dollars (N361 billion), adding that paying or servicing the loan will require negotiation with organizations and countries owed.

“My administration stands to promote development, youth empowerment and women inclusion in governance (35 percent) as laid down by our great party.”

Hon. Ashiru pledged to revive the textile industries in the state with the completion of the 20 megawatt at Gurara supplying the Kudenda industrial area of the state with power.

“Poverty is the problem of the north and by this we (my party) plans to employ as many as possible in the state. I plan to take education to the next level and make it affordable to encourage enrollment,” he said.

He vowed to provide all that is needed to enhance agriculture, which includes provision of fertilizers and tractors needed to boost the sector.
