Kaduna NUJ chair urges Vigilante to resolve leadership tussle

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council, Comrade Garba Muhammad has appealed to the two factions of Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the state to resolve their leadership tussle for the interest of peace and stability in the state.
Garba made the appeal when the one faction of the group led by the state Commandant, Mohammed Sani Umar paid him a courtesy visit at the council secretariat.
He advised them to shun their differences and form a formidable group and continue under one umbrella in fighting crime in the state.
“This way you will complement the effort of the state government towards ensuring lasting peace in the state,” he said.
Comrade Garba also urged them to be vigilant in ensuring that they identify strangers in the state who may be security threat within their localities.
“We hope that the state government will integrate you into the main stream security outfit so that you can continue to contribute your quota for the security of lives and property of the citizens of the state.”
He thanked them for the visit as well as assured them of the cooperation and support of journalists in the state in achieving their set goals of ensuring security in all parts of the state.
In his remarks, the Group State Commandant, Muhammed Sani Umar congratulated the state NUJ executives over their victory during the last union elections.
He expresses their commitment to support the state security outfit named Operation Yaki towards making the state crime free.
