The federal government-approved relief items will be distributed to approximately 800 households affected by the flood and windstorm in the Pambegua and Zuntu communities of Kubau Local Government Area.

These communities experienced severe flooding following heavy rains and windstorms on June 24, 2024, which affected about 4,800 persons and resulted in four fatalities.

The relief materials consist of both food and non-food items, including rice, maize, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, powdered milk, Milo, clothing for men, women, and children, towels, mosquito nets, plastic buckets, diapers, detergent, zinc nails, and roofing sheets.

In his remarks, the Zonal Coordinator, on behalf of NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, expressed condolences to the affected communities and urged beneficiaries to utilize the federal government’s support to alleviate their hardships. He emphasized that the relief materials are intended to provide succor during these challenging times and are not a compensation for their losses.
