B; Amos Mathew, Kaduna‎.
Kaduna human rights association has written to the Honourable Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed requesting further information on the recovered loots.
A copy of the letter signed by the Executive Director of the association, Sadau Garba Esq and made available to newmen in Kaduna said, “in keeping with the provisions of the freedom of Information Act, 2011, we humbly request for certain information at your disposal regarding the Federal government’s recovery of over N115 billion from the looters of the Nigerian treasury.
“The information we request from you are; names and addresses of persons and/or companies/organizations against whom recoveries as disclosed were made ‎and addresses/locations of all the non-cash recoveries”.
According to the letter dated 8th June, 2016, the request became imperative in view of the fact that the fight‎ against corruption by the Federal Government under the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari is never in doubt.
“The president swore to do right to all manner of people, according to law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.
“We want to believe that the said looters were not ghosts but human beings that abused the confidence reposed in them by the Nigerian nation. Shielding them will definitely set a bad precedent in our dear nation. Our generation and indeed future generation have no other country than Nigeria, we shall strive to salvage it together” the association stated.
