The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Tuesday, admonished the  Forum of the Wives of  Local Government Chairmen of Kaduna State to initiate something good for the betterment of women in the society.

Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe stated this when the delegates  forum of the wives of the local government chairmen paid a courtesy visit to Government House in Kaduna.
She said this is the first time to be with the wives of local government chairmen, adding that, “it’s pleasing to meet with you.”
According to her, the state is not averse to supporting things they want to do because there’s no budget  line for wives of local government chairmen or wives of governors.
Explaining that, “what we do is to identify areas that have similar activities with what you intend  to do, especially if you work with Ministry of Human Services and Social Development and Ministry of Health, you have a lot that you can do in areas of  health.”
She advised them that they should have a work plan.
“Eerything has to be documented, you need to have a plan of what to do at a time,” she advised.
She give an instance that, “This is what we think will  cost us t initiate something. What can you do as chairmen’s wives,  you are the face of the women.
“However, if you have a primary healthcare facility close to where you stay, once in a while, just go in there to ensure that the people are there, the staff are there, because no matter how much we preach about going to the facilities,  if the people are not there, work done is zero.”
In her remarks, the wife of the State ALGON chairman, Iman Abubakar Buba said they were in government house to pay courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor.
“We are to introduce members of the forum and seek her support and guide on how to contribute to the development and progress of their respective local government areas, especially, the empowerment of women and youth,” she said.
