A group, Friends of Sardauna in Kaduna State have urged the Nigerian electorate to consider competence and eligibility in choosing their representatives at national and state levels.
The group noted that people aspiring for elective positions should not be elected based on the platform of a political party but should be credible candidates that would represent the people well.

Spokesperson of the group, Chief Gabriel Ude Idibia in a statement in Kaduna on Monday, said that their consultations have gone a long way to draft their friend and senior colleague, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan, the Sardaunan Hayin Banki-Kaduna into the political race to represent the people of Kaduna  Central àt the Senate come 2023.
According to the statement, “Although Sardauna Ibrahim Hassan is yet to answer our call, we believe the people of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone which comprised of Kaduna North,Kaduna South, Chikun,Igabi,Birnin Gwari, Kajuru and Giwa will come out enmasse to support him due to his philanthropy and impeccable records over time.”
He explained that politics was all about interest and therefore, the electorate would leave no stone unturned by following due process to vote for people of integrity who will be answering their calls while in the hallowed chamber and ensured that the dividends of democracy come down to the grassroots.
Chief Idibia said, “We met Sardaunan Hayin Banki-Kaduna but he told us that the incumbent Senator for Kaduna Central is his brother and he will like to see him return to the Senate. But the story is everywhere that the Senator is warning up to contest for the governorship. So we want Sardaunan Hayin Banki-Kaduna to occupy that seat by God’s grace to enable the people of Kaduna Central have a good Senator who knows their problems and has always been with them.
“Based on popular demand, once Sardauna give us his consent, we shall unveil the political party. But be informed that the clamour for him to contest has heightened in all the Local Government Areas that made up Kaduna Central.
“The youth, women and elderly vowed that on whichever political platform Sardauna decided to contest, they will mobilize their kith and kin and vote for him. Such goodwill and popularity are unprecedented.”
