Kaduna AG Pledges Support for Anti-Torture Network

Kaduna State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Justices Doris Sijuade has applauded the formation of the state chapter of Network Against Torture, NAT, and promised to assist within her ability to suceed in its assignment.
The commissioner who disclosed this when members of the Network paid her courtesy call in the ministry, also approved the request made by the network to allow the use the ministry’s facility as temporary ofice to enhaced their work.
Acting Director Citizens Rights, Hajara Jibrin Abubakar who represented the AG, said the AG is happy about the formation of the network and has promised the she will give all the necessary support as they perform their duty.
Hajara Abubakar who is also a member of the network said the AG is so passionate about the network and has promised that she will be attending  meetings with members if less busy to show her commitments and contribution.
Earlier, the State Coordinator of the networks Mr. Terngu Gwar told the AG that the Anti Torture body was established to Provide free legal services and support to victims of torture in the state in line with the National Human Right Commission and Convention on African Charter on human and People’s Rights.
“It is an initiative of a workshop organised by NGO support from France”. He said.
