The Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has raised concern over the three day notice given by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) to conduct Chairmanship and Counsellorship election in Zangon Kataf local government.
Hon. Philemon Kure, Kaduna State ADC Chairman bore his mind during an interview on Thursday in Kaduna.
Kure, who described the development as sudden, urged the electorial umpire to ensure fairness in the process.
“This particular election has been postponed several times and none of the new dates had ever been this sudden.
“We just officially heard yesterday that election would hold three days from now being Saturday.
“It is our hope that the concerned authorities would exercise fairness through the process so that legitimate candidates that are the people’s choice would emerge.
“However, in spite of the short notice we are confident on our supporters to vote us into victory,” Kure added.
Dr Saratu Audu-Dikko, Chairman of KADSIECOM on Wednesday during a press briefing announced that Chairmanship and Counsellorship election would take place Saturday Oct. 23 at Brinin Gwari and Zangon Kataf local government areas respectively.
Recall that election at the affected areas was cancelled following reasons of insecurity.
