The President of Jos Polo club tournament, Alh Danjuma Umar Dauda has decried the challenges of sponsorship as the major set back to the game of polo in the country.
Dauda in an exclusive interview stated this during the 2016 flag-off ceremony of polo tournament held at Jos Polo Field in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He expressed confidence that the polo game is all about promoting peaceful coexistence and unity among citizens of Nigeria, so we are encouraging youth participation.

The president cautioned that, the past five years in Plateau state, polo game had not been played due to the lingering crisis that engulfed the state but, “I assure you that under our amiable governor Simon Lalong the activities had resume in full”.
He appealed to Nigerians to shun differences and embrace peace so as to support President Mohammadu Buhari agenda of transformation of Nigeria.
Alh Dauda called on states to join the game of polo which is cardinal in realizing their common goals of promoting respect and potentials of their government.
He said about 99 percent of those who are playing the game are predominantly youths for sustain love and understanding.

“We want to keep the youths busy, happy and for the unity and development of the country and encourage more participation of stakeholders”, he explained.
Mr Tasiu Bala Goba, player for A.B Galla said the game is been played every boxing day, 26th December to entertain supporters.
Goba express happiness that the state has regain back its lost glory since All Progressive Congress’s (APC) came on board to rescue the state , “we can now see people going to sleep with their two eyes closed”.
The following states participated in polo 2016 tournament; Bauchi, Adamawa, Kano, Plateau, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna.
The Jos Malcomnes Polo team defeated Kaduna team 6-3 on Wednesday game.
The National Secretary of Polo, Abba Kyari noted that nine games has been played which include free medical exercise conducted for young polo players in Nigeria.
Patron Malcomines and Treasurer Jos Polo club, Murtala A. Laushi thanked God and present government of Lalong for demonstrating that peace has finally returned to Plateau state.
He described the game as the game for peace, and encouraged the youths to see themselves as vanguard of transformation.
