Jos Hausa community charges Information Commissioner on peace

Plateau State Commissioner of information and communications Malam Nazif Ahmad, has been urged to work assiduously to promote peace and progress of the state.
Leadership of the Jos Hausa Community made the appeal in a press statement congratulating the commissioner and also appreciating Governor Simon Lalong over the historical appointment of their sons.
The statement which was signed by Alhaji Sani Mu’azu Secretary, said the appointment was a testimony of the positive changes that are happening in the state and “a mark of confidence from the Governor, Barrister Simon Bako Lalong.”
“As you assume office as a Commissioner we appeal to you to give your new appointment the seriousness it deserves and work assiduously in the promotion of peace and progress in the state.”
The community tasked the commissioner to be fully committed to the service of the state and to; “live as a statesman above parochial interest.”
They also admonished him to be a worthy ambassador of his people and; “to establish the fact that our community is ever ready and committed to serve our state and see to its growth and development.”
The community appreciated Governor Lalong over the appointment of three of their sons as Deputy Chief of Staff Government House, Secretary Jos North LGC management committee, and Commissioner of Information and Communications, Barrister Yusuf Gambo Hawaja, Alhaji Shehu Bala Usman and Malam Nazif Ahmad respectively.
“These appointments are testimony of the Governor’s efforts to foster greater understanding, peace, cooperation and inclusiveness among different communities in Plateau state,” the statement read in part.
