Jonathan returns to Nigeria, extols Martin Luther King Jnr

The world enjoys universal freedom today, because of the liberty America enjoys as a result of labour of men like Martin Luther King Jr., former President Goodluck Jonathan has said.
Jonathan expressed this on returning from a trip to USA where he was honoured by SCLA  in Georgia.
“America enjoys liberty and universal freedoms that reverberates around the world because of the labours of men like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On the 28th of August 1963, Dr. King articulated “a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have just returned from Georgia where I met with Dr. King’s sister and I can testify to the fact that Dr. King’s dream has materialized in reality,” he said.
The former President who is receiving accolades the world over for his role in Nigeria’s peaceful election and transition in 2015 explained that the Liberty bell that Dr. King rang continues to resonate today and ‘God willing will continue resonating forever’.
“He may have gone before us into God’s loving embrace, but like I told his son, Dr. Martin Luther King III, who I met in Atlanta, the man who had the Dream may have died, but his dream has been realized and the reality of it has made the world a better place. Happy birthday Dr. Martin Luther King,” he concluded.
