Jigawa Govt Committed To Welfare Of Citizens – Dep Gov

Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi has tasked members of the state Social Protection Platform to work closely with the State Rehabilitation Board in identifying the  numbers of  People With Disabilities (PWDs)  to be replaced into the N7,000 monthly stipends, as the state government has set up a three-man committee to oversee to the implementation of the State Disability Trust Fund meant to cater for the well being  of PWDs.

Seaking while receiving members of Jigawa Social Protection Platform (JISOP) in his office, he further said, “this visit is timely and important,  the State Executive Council has  redeemed its pledge of setting up a three-man committee, saddlef with responsibility of implementation of the established Disability Trust Fund across the 27 to better the lot of PWDs.”

He urged the platform to follow up on the commissioners of works, finance and women affairs, promising to take all issues and concerns raised into consideration in ensuring proper action is taken for the betterment of the state’s citizens.

Earlier, the JISOP Chairman, Comrade Shuaibu Kafin-Gana informed the deputy governor that their mission was to discuss and follow up with His Excellency on the creation and appointment of the committee that will oversee the implementation of the Jigawa State Disability Trust Fund, issues of replacement of PWDs who are enjoying the monthly stipends but later lost their lives, among other related issues concerning State Government Protection Policy. 

Also speaking during the courtesy visit,  ESPID Advocacy and Communications Officer, Umar Ibrahim Umar,    congratulated the deputy governor for emerging  the flag bearer of the next election and added that Jigawa Social Protection Platform has been receiving capacity building from Action Against Hunger and ESPID.

He later raised  concerns of the PWDs that need urgent attention to His Excellency.
