The Jigawa State Chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), has assured of its full support for the successful implementation of dry season programme inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Senator Abubakar Kyari at Hadejia on Saturday.
A statement signed and issued to our correspondent by the state chairman, Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga, said that AFAN would contribute greatly towards the success of the programme in Jigawa State and to ensure that farmers benefit from the project
The statement further reads, “AFAN would work selflessly for the implementation of the dry season wheat production and other crops value chains mainly produced through irrigation in order to promote better commercial agriculture especially when the Jigawa state government remained committed to provide full support to boosting agriculture which was contained in governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda”.
Mai Unguwa Jaga said that the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture is making efforts to ensure that Nigeria depends on itself in terms of food security, economic progress and providing genuine employments opportunities.
He commended Governor Umar Namadi for providing all the necessary support to the agricultural sector in the state.
