Religious leaders in the Country have been told to desist from making statements that are capable of igniting hatred among their follower.
The Secretary of council of Ulamah of Jamaatu Izalatul Bidaah Waikamatul Sunah, JIBWIS, Sheik Alhassan Saeed jos stated this while reacting to the statement made by the National president of CAN over numbers of Christians affected in the series of violence Crisis in the Country.
Addressing Journalist over the development during press conference over the utterances of some clerics in the country, he noted that such statements are capable of igniting hatred among their followers considering the fragile relationship.
According to him, “such utterances and inflammatory statements are only aggravating the fragile relationship between Christians and Muslims “
He said, already there is growing dislike among the followers of the two religions in the country
Sheik Saeed noted that “such behaviors by Christians and Muslim in the country would bring a set back to any regime“.
The government, according to him, ought to regulate hate speeches and sermons he described as “wrong“.
