The newly elected Council Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Yunana Markus Barde has described civil servants as the fulcrum of every successful political administration and promised to give priority to staff welfare.
The Chairman made the promise during a two-day separate interactive meeting with ward Councillors and staff from the different departments of the local government at the Council Secretariat in Kafanchan, Kaduna State- Nigeria.
According to Mr. Yunana Markus Barde, the meeting became imperative following the genuine desire to cultivate the needed understanding towards building a strong synergy with staff of the Local Government, and ward Counselors that would guarantee effective execution of his people oriented policies and programmes.
He advised the staff of the local government to be committed, puntual and sincere in the execution of their administrative mandates as specified in the laws establishing the civil service in the state.
Com. Barde who reiterated his determination to run an open door administration, encouraged staff of the Local Government to always approach him with constructive suggestions on how best to move the local government forward.
The Jema’a Local Government Leader during a brief ceremony after taking over the mantle of leadership from the out-going overseer of the LG advised the incoming Ward councillors in the area to put aside party consideration and concentrate on providing purposeful grassroot leadership to promote social and economic prosperity of the people in rural communities.
Yunana Barde said during the interactive session at the local government Secretariat that, he was determined to provide practical democratic leadership for the betterment of people in the area with a view to improving their well-being in line with democratic tenets.
He, however, pointed to the fact that, the task of fixing Jema’a Local Government was enormous that requires teamwork to succeed, hence the call for the people to accord him the needed support to enable him deliver on his campaign promises.
Speaking at the Local Government Secretariat in Kafanchan, the outgoing Overseer of the local government area, Mr Ibrahim Dayibu Abdullahi while handing over the mantle of leadership to the newly elected chairman expressede gratitude to Gov. Nasir el-Rufai for giving him the privilege to serve the people of Jema’a Local Government.
Describing his four months administrative experience as rewarding, Mr. Dayibu commended the people of Jema’a Local Government for their understanding and cooperation during his short tenure in office and encouraged them to do same to the incoming Council Chairman whom he said meant well for them.
The Director Administration and Finance of the Local Government, Mr. Philip Galadima commended the chairman’s initiative and assured him of the staff unflinching loyalty and continued cooperation to enable his council succeed.
