Jama’are Emirate in Bauchi Gets New Emir

The Bauchi State Government has appointed a new Emir of Jama’are. He is Alhaji Nuhu Ahmed Wabi

The Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Kassim Mohammed Monday conveyed the letter of appointment to the new emir in Jama’are.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kassim Mohammed had while presenting the letter of appointment to the new emir, congratulated him for ascending to the throne and urged him to follow the footsteps of his predecessors 

Alhaji Nuhu Ahmed Wabi with this appointment become the 10th Emir of Jama’are, succeeding his father, Alhaji Ahmad Mohammed Wabi who departed for the great beyond on February 6, 2022.

Wabi was until his appointment, the Yerima of Jama’are. Following the appointment, the entire people in Jama’are town were thrown to jubilations, as there was no discordant voice under the throne.

Speaking shortly after receiving the letter of appointment, the new pledged to positively contribute to the growth and development of Jama’are emirate while being fair and transparent to people irrespective of all differences

He expressed gratitude to all the emirs in Bauchi state under the able leadership of the traditional council chairman, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu for giving him all the support to become the 10th Emir of Jama’are.

“Though it is the wish of Allah for me to become the 10th Emir of Jama’are, but all the other emirs in the state unanimously endorsed me to be the next emir. Iam grateful to all of them”, the new custodian of Jama’are emirate told the press.

The Jama’are new emir told the press that though emirs have limit in their traditional role, he would however do his best to ensure peaceful co-existence among his people while carrying them all along in the development of the emirate in particular and the state, country at large.

Wabi expressed delight with the people of the emirate for their festive support to his emergence as the 10th emir of jama’are, saying, “I will do all my best with the support of members of the emirate council in uplifting the living standard of the people to make life bearable

Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi was born in 1961 in Jamaare where he had his early education before proceeding to Government Secondary School, Azare, now Government College Azare, and was later at Funtua School of Basic Studies.

Nuhu had his first degree at the University of Jos, after which he has a stint at Federal Ministry of Works and Housing before he joined the services of Bauchi State Government as administrative officer under office of HOS where he rose to the position of a director.

He retired from the state services as a permanent secretary and was the District Head of Jama’are with the title of Yeriman Jama’are before his new appointment Monday as the new emir of the emirate

Nuhu succeeded his father, Ahmad Mohammed Wabi who passed to the great beyond on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after protracted illness

The master of the ceremony and indigene of Jama’are emirate, Alhaji Rabi’u Wada who facilitated the letter presentation ceremony to the emir, expressed gratitude over the appointment of Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi as the new emir of Jama’are.

Wada explained that Nuhu Ahmad Wabi is the choice of God, and ultimately the choice of the people of Jama’are emirate, and called on the people to give the new emir all necessary support and cooperation to symbolize the unity of the emirate.
