ITF Trains 300 Youths On Skills Acquisition In Niger

Nigeria’s foremost skills and industrial training hub, the Industrial Training Fund, (ITF) has graduated over 300 youths from Niger State in various fields.
The youths were trained on aluminum fabrication/smelting, cathering, events managemernt and interior decoration, tiling and making of POP ceiling techniques.
Director General of the ITF, Joseph O. Ari said at the occasion that ITF was pursuing the actualisation of job creation agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to better the lots of citizens.
He said the fund has continued to play it’s primary responsibilities of imparting skills and vocational training to citizens in order to bridge the gap in unemployment and create a body of entrepreneurs in the country who would transform the economic status of the country.
Represented by Nde Zachariah, the Director, Research and Curriculum Development at the ITF Headquarters in Jos, he noted that the fund has been in the forefront of instilling functional know-how on skills acquisition for self empowerment through it’s skills for job programmes.
The graduation which held at the weekend in Minna, was graced by Hussaini Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary at the Niger state Ministry of Youths Development who commended the ITF for sustaining its job and skills acquisition training programmes.
Hussaini Ahmed stood in for governor Abubakar Sani Bello at the occasion. He advised the beneficiaries of the training programmes to use the knowledge acquired to create Jobs and empower themselves and others.
Starter packs of kits and tools were given to the 300 beneficiaries with a call on them to put them to good and proper use.
The beneficiaries were trained on how to make POP ceiling, aluminum fabrication techniques, events management and indoor decoration amongst other skills.
