The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has said that it has trained and disbursed skills kits to over 3,905 Nigerians for self sustaining under it’s National Empowerment Training Programme nationwide.
The Director General of the fund, Sir Joseph Ari stated this at the graduation ceremony of 100 Jigawa youth who completed Intensive Empowerment Training for Self Reliance in different crafts such as catering ,event planning, plumbing, and pipe fittings in Dutse.
Speaking through his representative, Mr. Even Okiricha, he urged the participants to utilize their talents and expertise diligently in their places of work.
He said, “The training, you have acquired is in line with the National Industrial Skills Development Programme aimed at adapting training techniques on the youth to be able to stand on their feet for self reliance in acquiring gainful employment anywhere they find themselves.”
Mr. Even Okiricha said the programme was established in 2016 to facilitate the achievement of the federal government’s policy on job and wealth creation and a new generation of entrepreneurs to transform the economic landscape of the country.
He appealed to state governments, organized private sector, non governmental organizations, politicians and relevant stakeholders to collaborate with ITF in its efforts to train Nigerians.
In his message to the occasion, Governor Badaru Abubakar, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Economic Empowerment Directorate, Dr Haruna Musa called on beneficiaries to make good use of the training and the package they acquired in standing upon their feet for self reliance.
