The increasing menace of hooliganism and brutal killings among Muslim youth in Jos metropolis is giving religious leaders, parents and security operatives sleepless nights.
Islamic scholars who attended the Maulid lecture organized by Bukuru Community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State lamented over the incidents.
Alhaji Yusuf Yahaya explained that parents and school teachers are now experiencing what he described “ as a catastrophic problem “ confronting the society.
According to him, “ the entire community is now afflicted and we are on daily basis witnessing one killing or the other“, he added.
A cross section of those who spoke to New Nigerian Newspapers said “ hardly a week passes without recording one incident of brutal and wicked killing among the youth“.
Also speaking on the menace and looming dangers ahead in Jos-North, Alhaji Sani Mudi, who is also a Special Adviser to Governor Simon B. Lalong decried the menaced of hooliganism among the youth.
