The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Tuesday reminded Nwodo family of Enugu State that their continued family sabotage now and during the last genocidal war against the people of Biafra in 1970 will bring their family downfall.
The group in a statement by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful said that it has been observing the actions and uttrances of some members of the Nwodo family and can confirm their prejudice and nagative attitude towards anything concerning Biafra.
The statement partly read, “They must not be in support of our agitation for freedom but they will do their family a great deal of good when they keep their views to themselves.
“Okwesilieze Nwodo may chose to play their evil politics and collaborate with the Fulani to haunt their perceived opponents in South East with the objective of creating an environment of fear in the South Easth in their desperation to demonise agitators of Biafra, but he should have known by now that the Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB will not be deterred by such antics.”
IPOB stressed that esorting to destruction of lives and property in South East to implicate the group cannot make it to abandon its struggle for self determination, saying thst it remains peaceful and focused on its agenda no matter the distractions.
The group warned those fomenting crisis and attack of any sort in the south East to desist noting that IPOB volunteers and ESN operatives are watching.
It also called on people to stop linking IPOB with the spate of barbarity going on in South East, particularly Anambra and Imo States.
While saying that it has no hand in the ongoing killings in the southeast region, IPOB added, “Time without number, we have said it that IPOB is not unknown gunmen but those who hate IPOB like Okwesilieze Nwodo and his co-travellers find pleasure in accusing IPOB in an attempt to carry out the assignment of their paymasters.
“Their hatred for anything about IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi and the Biafra struggle has beclouded their common sense pushing them to always attempt linking IPOB with all the atrocities of these heartless politicians who are nothing but the creation of the evil Nigerian edifice who has nothing but deprivation of the masses to show for their decades of being politicians and overtly supported and encouraged by the Nigeria State to demonise IPOB must understand that it is them against the will of the Biafran people.
“Our peaceful methodology and resolve to achieve Biafran freedom and emancipate our people from servitude can not be stopped by their occasional outbursts to impress their masters and ensure constant flow of corrupt and bloody money to them.
IPOB bowever apologised to Chief John Nnia Nwodo for erroneously attributing the statement from Okwesilieze Nwodo to him.
It said, “This erroneous mix up was unintended and hereby retracted.
“Okwesilieze Nwodo talking trash against IPOB indicated to all and sundry that he has a hand and idea of what happened to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria.
“Those that bankrolled the extraordinary rendition of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should not think that it is over yet, because the Biafran people are coming for them unless they ensure the unconditional release of our leader. It is not yet celebration time for them.
