Kano female farmers have called on the Federal Government, state and international organisations that focuse on agriculture to give more support to women in order to boost their production at both dry and rainy seasons.
The call was made by the participants at female farmers day during an international agric expo held in Kano between 8th-11th October 2018 organised by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRADC) in collaboration with Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), AFAN and DFID.
In her remarks, the Kano State AFAN women leader, Hajiya Sidiya Fatima Sharif Gambo Yako said that Kano female farmers are in need of helping hands from all angles to boost their farming, livestock rearing, poultry keeping and fishery especially at present when majority of Kano female farmers are doing their best at all levels.
She then assured that Kano female farmers will continue to produce the highest number of food and cash crops that are being produced in the state, and commended the organisers of the agric expo for their concern about female farmers.
She thanked the Kano AFAN chairman, Alhaji Farouk Rabi’u and all those who graced the colourful ceremony for witnessing the female farmers day.
The expo was well attended by farmers groups, associations, and small and medium scale farmers, while different agro allied companies displayed their products to the teaming participants.
