Inferno raze a section of Jos Central Mosque, houses

Inferno has razed the Female section of the Jos Central Mosque and number of classrooms yesterday afternoon.
The inferno which started from a house behind the Mosque before affecting the Mosque also later spread to two other houses and many shops around the vicinity.
It was gathered from Alhaji Rabiu Hassan a shop owner who sales cars at Massallaci Motors that the fire stated; “from one shop and later spread to engulfed the others.”
He said “thank God that the fire did not killed anyone neither did any one sustained injury”.
Our reporter who was at the scene reported that many able men and youths were on ground and helped put out the fire.
However, the state Director of the Jama’atul Nasir Islam (JNI) Aid Group Alhaji Danjuma Khalid said the fire wouldn’t have affeced the Mosque, “had it being some of the youths that trooped in have allowed men of the fire service to do their job as trained.”
According to him, the female side of the Mosque under renovation was completely burnt by the fire.
Men of the fire service were seen busy trying to put off the fire with people aiding with water from nearby water wells.
Four trucks of the fire service were on ground, a fire service man who led a truck of re-enforcement from the Plateau State Government House, Mr. A.S Barau said they were called upon from the Fire Service section of Jos metropolis to come and render assistance.
It was gathered that the fire started at about 2:05 pm, and lasted till about 3:20pm, and destroyed property worth millions of Naira.
