Sultan Sa’ad Charges BOBA Members To Uplift College Image



The Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has charged members of Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) to uplift the college’s image anywhere they are.

He gave the charge at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the association held at Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar Hall, Barewa College, Zaria at the weekend.

He promised to bring Barewa College to the highest level of progress as he is always proud with the college at any point in time.

Sultan Sa’ad advised the old boys to lift the name of BOBA,  particularly those that have excelled in their respective field of endeavour.

The Sultan also appealed to the members to remain united and committed to the association”s programmes any time the need arises.

In his remarks, the royal host,  Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli said that students of Barewa are unique and consistent.

Bamalli commended members of BOBA for their commitment in moving the association forward.

He appealed to the exco members   that when next they come for meeting, they should be in the palace for their meals.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the National President of BOBA, Engr. Dahiru Ibrahim said a committee has been set up to look into some aspects of needs from the college for the association to find a way of addressing them.

Engr. Dahiru said that despite numerous challenges facing the country, but members have shown commitment to the association’s success.

The President expressed appreciation to all members of BOBA for their tireless efforts in making the AGM a success, despite the security challenges in the country.

Dr. Nasiru Usman, the Publicity Secretary of BOBA described the meeting as a success, considering the country’s challenges economically and otherwise.

He said that BOBA members have shown how committed they are and well united.

During the AGM, BOBA Calendar was presented, as His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar paid for the whole copies and ordered for the distribution to all members present.
