A team from Kasuwar Mata Police Division has succeeded in arresting three suspected armed robbers that have been terrorising Unguwan Jaba, Tsugugi and Unguwan Mai Gwado area of Sabon Gari Local Government of Kaduna State.
According to reports by the communities of the affected areas, the armed robbers numbering about 30 were spotted carrying dangerous weapons and entered from house-to-house, collecting money and hand sets, while in another house, they carted two motorcycles with all their original particulars.
When the Police arrived, the armed robbers had fled, but in a hot pursuit, they were tracked and they exchanged gun fire.
As a result of fire exchange, the Police shot two suspects and they escaped with bullet wounds.
In the process, the Police succeeded in recovering the two motorcycles and six handsets at the scene.
In their efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects the Police revisited the scene at dawn and saw blood of the injured suspects and trailed it to the room where they were hibernating, thereby, arresting the three suspects.
When interrogated, the arrested robbers said they converged from different places, some from Jos, Kaduna, Zabi and within the community.
On the two that were shot by the Police they confessed that one died and they dumped his remains into the river, while the second has been taken to hospital for treatment but they don’t know the exact location.
Confirming the situation, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command DSP Muhammad Jalige confirmed the arrest of the three suspects and said that the Police has swung into action to arrest the remaining suspects and investigations are ongoing.
