Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Friday, reiterated his commitment to the children of Kaduna State.
Kaduna State Government celebrated the children of Kaduna State and the commemoration of the creation of Kaduna State on 27 May 1967.
Children from 15 primary and secondary schools across the state participated in a March Past that was held at The Pavilion, Murtala Muhammad Square, Kaduna.
“As our children grow into young adults, they need jobs and a climate that assists them to flourish in enterprise and creativity.
” This is a major motivation for our determined drive to attract investors to Kaduna State, so that they can create the jobs for our youth and expand the demand for services that they can provide,” he said.
He further reaffirmed that the state government values all the children in the state.
“Since 2015, we invested considerable efforts to promote equal opportunity to give every child a fair chance of social mobility its our major reason for focus on human capital development.
“We invest in schools and teachers to give out the best. This commitment is equality reflected in our initiative to give all children the same access to education and eradicate the almajiri syndrome that has been practiced in a way that limits the chances of our children,” he added
According to him, with the commitment to improving access to healthcare, the government has renovated and equipped its primary healthcare centres. So far its has revamped the 255 primary healthcare centres with one in each ward in the state.
“We have done everything we can to give our children equal opportunities and giving them a chance of climbing the ladder of social mobility,” he added.
He said the state government has provided free, education and free healthcare to ensure reduction of infant mortality.
The governor also appreciated the diligence and dedication of the teachers and school children in making the march past successful.
In attendance were Her Excellency, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, members of the Kaduna State Executive Council, parents, teachers, children as well as invited guests.
Betty Queen International School, GGSS Sabon Tasha, GSS Ungwan Boro, GGSS Independence Way, Queen Amina College, Legacy Schools, Government College, Kaduna, Sardauna Memorial College Kaduna, Iman International School, Filkom International School, GSS Ungwan Sarki, Government Technical College, Malali, Scintillate International School, Rimi College, Kaduna and GSS Badarawa, Kaduna participated in the colourful march past.
