The Federal Government in collaboration with African Development Bank (ADB), has executed agricultural projects worth N17.7bn in five local government areas in Jigawa State.
Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia representing Jigawa North East made this known while inspecting some projects sites in Auyo and Kafin Hausa local government councils within his constituency.
He said the projects are under agricultural transformation agenda support programme of the federal government, while commending Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation towards the successful conduct of the programme.
In his speech, the zonal programme coordinator ATASP Kano/Jigawa, Auwal Ado Shehu thanked Governor Badaru Abubakar for releasing counterpart funding and the senator for facilitating the projects.
He said the projects have so far, reached 50 per cent completion of 41.5 feeder roads from Hadejia Jamaare to Ansaye to Galauchi to Miga and from Auyo to Zabarau to Gudito to Maskangayu for transporting food items.
He commended Senator Ibrahim Hassan for his efforts towards increasing the tenure of the programme to two years.
In his vote of thanks, the council chairman of Auyo Local Government Area, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmed Sani commended both federal and state governments as well as the senator for sourcing the projects for the benefit of farmers in the area.
