Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko on Tuesday called on media practitioners in Nigeria to set agenda that will enhance the development of the country rather than focusing on issues that can lead to chaos in the country
Receiving the Oyo state Executives of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) led by the association’s Chairperson, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola during a courtesy visit to the Oyo state Police command headquarters, Eleyele, CP Onadeko said media practitioners should be seen promoting unity of Nigeria and ignore fake news.
According to CP Onadeko, media practitioners should do away fake news in the interest of nation building and concentrate on issues that tends to unite Nigerians the more.
On the the achievements recorded so far in the Oyo Police command, CP Onadeko attributed it to the hardworking officers in the command who according to her are up to the task in making the work successful.
She then assured that officers in the command will continue to perform their duties professionally and as expected of them, assuring the public of the command’s commitment to the safety of lives and property.
Oyo State NAWOJ Chairperson, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola while speaking lauded the Oyo state Police command under CP Onadeko for joining in fighting Gender Based Violence, worked assiduously through the collaboration of the public in restoring peace to the state.
Comrade Ajibola stressed that the Oyo state Police command has been of good conduct and professionally in human relations, adding that some of the cases NAWOJ has been following reflected that the Police under the leadership of CP Onadeko remains outstanding.
The Oyo state NAWOJ Chairperson assured the command of the association’s collaboration, towards the widows, professional reportage and investigative journalism, and that widows in the command will benefit from some of the programmes of NAWOJ as one of the ways to make lives more meaningful for them.
