Imo NAWOJ Lauds  Uzodimma’s Aide For Returning $1.3m  Belonging To American In Jordan

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter has commended the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Persons With Disabilities, Dr Samuel Emehibe for returning 1.3 million dollars belonging to a Polish American upon arrival on pilgrimage in Jordan. 

Imo State NAWOJ in a statement signed by its Chairperson, Dr Dorothy Nnaji  and the Secretary, Comrade Chika Ewurum, noted  that despite the economic hardship and excruciating financial challenges facing most Nigerians, Dr. Emehibe  has not only proven that men of integrity still exist, but has also given Imo State an image boost.

In the statement, the association appreciated the impression the Special Adviser has given to the state.

“I noticed the Polish American left a  bag that was wrapped. I called him several times, but he did not pay attention until someone helped to wave him down and pointed towards me, I raised the bag for him to see, he immediately left his two kids and ran to  me”, he said.

Dr Emehibe added, ” He hugged me and told me the bag contained  one million Three hundred thousand United States dollars meant for a project.

“In appreciation, he offered me five thousand dollars but I refused it. For the sanctity of the religious obligation and as such conduct will add to improve the global impression of Nigerians as a people who value honesty”.

Dr Emehibe maintained  that the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has always anchored the need to lead a life that promotes true value of friendship, sincerity and integrity, as is the core value that builds society, adding that following the governor’s charge to the appointees to strive to be good ambassadors, he reckoned the need to help his fellow pilgrim protect his huge funds. 

Applauding the governor, Senator Uzodimma for sponsoring over one thousand citizens of the state to Holy Land, Imo NAWOJ urged Nigerians, the people of the state especially other batches of pilgrims to  the Holy Land to strive to be good ambassadors and to show spirit of love for humanity and contentment in the face of material inducement.
