The Kaduna State Branch of Nutrition Society of NIgeria has advised Nigerians to imbibe the culture of eating balanced diet.
Malam Sani Hassan, state chairman of the society gave the advise while marking Nigeria’s Nutrition Keek in Zaria.
He warned Nigerians to consider their age before taking any kind of food in order to have the right food the body needs.
According to him, aged people are at risks whenever they consume carbohydrate because of the nature their bodies.
Malam Sani Hassan called on people to always take food with vitamins and proteins.
He advised people to visit health facilities and follow medical advise in order to live healthy life.
He said seven out of ten Nigerians have health problems related to malnutrition cases.
He called on the three tiers of government to intensify efforts by embarking on sensitization campaign to educate the public on the importance of balanced diet.
Malam Sani Hassan called on the people to maintain the habit of eating traditional food such as beans, soya beans moringa, vegetables and food that contain vitamins and proteins.
