Senator Ali Wakili representing Bauchi South senatorial district in the Senate has denied the allegation that he is anti President Mohammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) on which platform he was elected.
Wakili also denied the accusations by some Bauchi citizens that he was having a rift with the State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar or any elected officials from the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The Senator, who spoke to journalists through his Senior Legislative aide, Mohammed Ladan Ahmed Gumau in Bauchi said “I have never declared war on any elected or appointed officer and I am not fighting with anybody in the state as well as the federal level”.
Senator Ali Wakili added, “I am in total support of the change mantra of President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration and I will continue to support him for the development of the nation”.

Wakili, while explaining that he is yet to declare intention for any elective seat ahead of 2019 elections, further stated that “I am yet to complete even half of my tenure, not to talk of 2019 because it’s only Allah that knows who will be alive to witness 2019 general elections”

Senator Wakili who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation cited the Kogi state 2015 elections saga where before INEC declare the winner of the elections one of the contestants died to buttress his claim.

“I am only working to better the lives of my people by providing constituency projects for them. In the last one year, I have donated laboratory equipments to 35 schools in my constituency as well as embarked on drilling of boreholes, distribution of fertilizers, motorcycles, cars and other items to uplift the living standard of the electorates”, he said.

Wakili however stated, “I remain grateful to people of my constituency and the people of Bauchi state for electing me and I will continue to serve their interest”.

It would be recalled that on July 18, 2016 a group under the aegis “APC Vanguard for Peace and Tranquility” staged a peaceful protest in Bauchi during which they  condemned some Bauchi state members of the National Assembly, Senator Wakili inclusive of clandestine moves to impeach President Mohammadu Buhari from office.
The Vanguard chairman, Nuru Zungur while at Bauchi Government House  said, “We are seizing this rally to keep you abreast and the need to call the concern representatives to order before we express our constitutional rights of recalling them as enshrined under section 69 (a and b) of the Constitution of Nigeria”.

Governor Mohammed Abubakar had while receiving the APC vanguard, instructed the Bauchi state representatives at the National Assembly to withdraw from the attempt to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari.
“If they cannot do that, they should come back home and if they don’t come back home we will use our constitutional rights to bring them back to Bauchi”, the Governor warned, stressing that “Bauchi state gave Muhammadu Buhari close to one million votes in the 2015 elections, so we have not elected our representatives to go to Abuja to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari”
