Ilorin agog for African kickboxing trials

The Nigerian team to the forth coming African Kicksboxing Championship holding in Madagascar in June, 2016 would be selected at the National Kickboxing Championship holding in Ilorin Kwara State between, May 17 &22, 2016.
Disclosing this to New Nigerian Sports, President of the Nigeria kickboxing Federation, Dr. Abubakar Adebayo Ishola said that Nigeria must have a strong presentation at the African Championship and that informs the need to organize the National Kickboxing Championship where the best athletes would be selected to represent the country in Madagascar next month.
“Nigerian Kickboxers have not been attending continental tournaments for some time and will use the Madagascar event to re-launch the country back to the continent, as the Federation want to use the trials to select the best athletes that will do the country proud in the Indian Ocean Island nation”. Noted the President.
He further stressed that there will be an officiating course which was already slated for May 18 during the championship. But appealed to states to release their athletes for the competition so as to have the opportunity of been selected for the continental championship.
Warning earlier was the Federation Secretary General, Paul Okocha, that payment of outstanding affiliation fee will be the major criteria for participation and advised states yet to complete their payment to do so before the commencement of the championship even as he informed that states are to carter for their accommodations, feedings and transportation during the tournament proper.
