Keeping to their catch-phrase ‘the Police is your friend’, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase has thrown opened the doors of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Microfinance Bank, assuring that all their banking needs can be met at the establishment.
Aranse stated this at the commissioning of the 18th branch of the bank in Kaduna on yesterday.
According to him, the bank provides the best services among microfinance banks in the country, assuring that civilians, serving and retired Police personnel can be assured that their savings will grow when dealing with the bank.
Arase, who was represented by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Job Doma Danazumi, explained that the retired personnel even stand to gain more from the bank as it would save them time and resources usually spent on long distance travels to meet their financial benefits.
He commended the management of the bank for their professional conduct, as well as the standard of their banking premises.
“I hope and pray we will continue to provide such beautiful edifices across the country,” he added.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the NPF Microfinance Bank, DIG Azubuko Joel Udah (Rtd), disclosed that there are plans to establish no fewer than 54 branches of the bank across the 36 states of the federation within the next three years to bring their services closer to the Police community and the general public.
He said that before yesterday, the bank had been operating from 17 different locations across Nigeria.
“The exploits of the bank have not gone unnoticed. To its credit the bank has won various laurels including Top 25 CEOs and Pearl Award. The board of the bank was also recently invited by the management of the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) to ring the bell at its closing ceremony,” he said.
Udah said that their products include current accounts, savings account, credit products, treasury services and electronic banking, urging the general public to take advantage of their unique advantages to open accounts at the bank.
In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris said that he was happy with the opening of the bank within his domain. He praised the management for their foresight, while assuring that members of the host community would be willing customers.
The Emir who was represented by the District Head of Kabala Doki,  Alhaji Yusuf Ladan, also said he was delighted that their presence would boost commercial activities in the area.
