IGP Commiserates Family Of Late Akwa Ibom CP, Waheed Ayilara

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has expressed sadness over death of the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, describing it as a great loss not only to his family, but to the entire Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun said the death of CP Ayilara has left an indelible mark on all who knew him and every single life that he has impacted in the course of his career.

He stated that CP Ayilara’s dedication to service and integrity would never be forgotten.

“On behalf of the entire officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the IGP extends his sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of late CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara, praying for solace during this difficult time. May his souls rest in peace” Egbetokun stated.

CP Waheed Ayilara, served in various capacities including as DCP State Criminal Investigations Department, Lagos State, before his posting as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Akwa Ibom State.

Ayilara, whose news of death on Thursday, sent shocking waves into the entire Akwa Ibom community, especially his friends and acquaintances, passed on after a brief illness on August 28, 2024 in Lagos.

Meanwhile IGP Egbetokun has also commiserated with family of late Retired AIG Philip Sule Maku who passed on August 23, 2924.

Maku served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Ebonyi states before retiring as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Force Headquarters, on December 12, 2021.
