Disburbed by his untimely demise and contribution to humanity, the Igala Foundation under the auspices of Ufedo Foundation has appealed to the Federal Government to immortalise late James Ocholi, SAN, by developing and instituting ‎enduring road safety codes and standards in Nigeria.
Late Ocholi, until his death was the Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Productivity, died in a tragic automobile accident along with his wife and son on Sunday, 6th March, 2016 on his way to Abuja after attending a Church program in Kaduna.
A statement issued ‎by the President of the Foundation, Engineer Abdul Audu and made available to newsmen in Kaduna said, the call has become imperative as avoidable road vehicular crashes has claimed a lot of live on Nigerian roads.
The President said, “Nigeria and the Igala Kingdom in particular have lost a hero and abacon of hope in ‎Barrister James Enejo Ocholi, SAN. He died when the Igala Nation, Kogi State and Nigeria needed him most.
“He was the hope of Igala people and was a rallying point for unified and sustainable development of Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
“His passion for hard work, honesty and diligence was unequal and was a dependable team player going by his track records. He was a Godly fellow who took delight in serving humanity and making others happy.
“We in Ufedo Foundation can only pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and join the family in their trying moment of grief. While also commiserating ‎with President Muhammadu Buhari, Atta Igala, the entire people of Igala Kingdom and Nigerians, we enjoin all to emulate the sterling qualities of late Ocholi who left indelible marks in the sands of time.”
