ICT: ABU Alumni Signs MoU with Omatek Ventures for student Computers

The Alumni Association in collaboration with the authorities of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria yesterday has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Omatek Ventures to provide students of the university with laptop computers on loan bases.
Speaking at the ceremony, the National President, ABU Alumni Association, Dr Ahmed Tijjani Mora said the ultimate objective of the MoU is to enhance teaching and learning apart from improving research and community service.
He observed that the project initiative was first among many needed projects identified by the association for the benefit of the university.
Mora said, “What we desired for our biological children is what we desired for the students of ABU.”
He lauded the management of the University for making the MOU possible, while urging the students to patronised the loan scheme.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Professor Ibrahim Garba represented by Professor Na’iya Sada, Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, said the initiative was the first of its kind which is geared towards improving learning and research development.
The VC said: “we are opportuned to have best fibre in the country established to enhance e-learning in the university”. He urge the students to make use of the opportunity and come in mass to access the loan scheme.
