Ibadan Chieftaincy: Elders broker peace between Gov Ajimobi and Olubadan

The Ibadan Elders Forum has finally broker peace between Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade on  the elevation  of nine Ibadan High chiefs .
Already, the governor has tactically put on hold the 48hours ultimatum handed down by the state government to the Olubadan to revert the elevation of the 9 High Chiefs by giving provisional approval  to the elevation of the High Chiefs which included Senator Rashidi Ladoja.
Disclosing this to  journalists in Ibadan after a closed door meeting with Governor Ajimobi and the Olubadan in Council, the President of Ibadan Elders Forum, Ambassador Saanu hinted that the Forum successful resolved the crisis with  Governor Ajimobi at the meeting agreeing to give provisional approval for the Olubadan Chiefs to retain their new position while they will follow due process in the promotion level later.
“We thank God for using the good elders of this land to resolve this issue peacefully in one accord. We have been having this meeting since 10am and immediately we summon the governor here he answered us immediately.
“After we have had a meeting with the governor in the morning, we later invited the affected Chiefs to present their grievances to the governor themselves. It was only a misunderstanding and the matter has been resolved amicably. We are grateful to the governor and we promise that the Chiefs will follow set down regulations for their promotion” he said.
The Former Prelate of Methodist Church, Most Revd Sunday Ola Makinde, who also attended the meeting confirmed the peaceful resolution of the crisis, saying God has intervened and the crisis has been settled by the Ibadan elders and that; “the Chiefs have agreed to follow due process and the governor have giving them provisional approval to retain their position”.
Governor Ajimobi in a chat with journalists after the meeting confirmed the resolution of the crisis over the elevation of the Ibadan High Chiefs, adding “we thank God for the elders”.
“Our elders are committed to peace in Ibadanland and our King has shown that he is a good monarch. He contributed to my success as governor. In this case, brothers are fighting and elders have intervened.  There is no cause for further misunderstanding. We will perfect the papers because the issue has been resolved by men of impeccable character. Due process will now take place. Sometimes, you get married before perfecting marriage ceremony,” he said.
Governor Ajimobi added that “the Ibadan Chiefs have agreed to follow due process and I have also giving them provisional approval to retain their position”.
Also the newly elevated Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Lekan Balogun while speaking on behalf all the newly promoted Ibadan High Chiefs, declared  that the issue have been resolve, and forgotten.
“We have all agreed with the governor because he is my brother and we are one family in Ibadan” he said
