Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has said that he has no anointed presidential candidate under the ruling APC seeking to contest for presidency in 2023.
His pronouncement which serves as a signal to those aspiring for presidential bid further stressed, ” For now, I don’t have any annointed candidate, instead, I would remain neutral and support committed and hard working candidates.
His words “We, as leaders, we will try to be fair, just, and support commitment, hard working and credible personalities vying for number one seat in the country in line with our party’s doctrine.”
He made the clarification while receiving members of the Coalition of Buhari Support Groups under the leadership of Comrade Musa Gambo Guri who paid a courtesy visit at Government House Dutse.
The Governor who distanced himself from those associating their political ambition with him, explained that they were doing so, purposely to project their interests.
Governor Badaru Abubakar however, said he shares political interests with President Muhammadu Buhari and will only act on his directives to support candidates seeking elective offices.
On the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar called on Youth to shun political appointments as campaign coordinators of ambitious politicians for now, until when it is time to do so.
Actually, the Governor is referring to those aspiring to become Presidential candidates in APC.
The Governor was very specific; he said, ” I use to tell all those that come looking for my support as Presidential candidates that, henceforth, nobody should bother coming to Jigawa because Jigawa is waiting for Mr president to guide us on who to support as our Presidential candidate.
The Governor further called on the members of the coalition to shun any coordinatorship appointment from any Presidential aspirant.
Earlier in his remarks, Comrade Guri stated that theirr mission to Jigawa Govt House was to commend Governor Badaru’s style of purposeful leadership in leading the state to success through his laudable Initiatives.
He also thanked the governor for his fatherly advise for the success of his movements.
