*says Umahi has zero tolerance to corruption
*accepts handover of Ebonyi Medical University to FG

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed happiness over the outstanding performance of governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, saying that he is pleased with economic records of the state saying that Umahi has zero tolerance to corruption and therefore, accepted the offer to handover the newly built King David University of Medical Sciences to the Federal Government as Umahi said it will stop medical tourism in Nigeria and also named the state international airport after the president.
Buhari who made this known during the state banquet organized in his honor during a two-day working visit to Ebonyi State, commending Governor Umahi for the overwhelming development across the state and for raising the economic status of the state as well as his contributions to nation building stating that he is pleased with the economic records and performance index of Ebonyi State, noting that Umahi has made Ebonyi proud.
He therefore, accepted the handing over of King David University of Medical Sciences, Uburu to Federal Government of Nigeria, stating that the process of handing over will soon be completed and also appreciated the governor for naming the International Airport and light tunnel after him, adding that the facilities will boost the economic status of Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
Buhari also said he was pleased with Umahi’s economic development records and performance index of the state as well as good network of roads and other infrastructural facilities, saying it shows zero tolerance to corruption and waste of public fund.
“I have decided to accept your offer of your government to take over the King David University of Medical Sciences and the process is on hand and will be concluded soon.
“I appreciate the honor of naming the state International Airport and the magnificent light tunnel after me. I hope this facilities and many more will further strengthen economic development in Ebonyi and in particular the Nigeria nation at large.
“I have noted the significant projects you executed in the last 7 years, you have made your people proud.
“I am pleased by the economic development records of the state under your administration.The wonderful network of roads,critical infrastructure and investment opportunities that you have created in the state.I have noted progress in the economic performance index of the state, particularly the report emanating from SFTAF commendable records about your budgeting principles.
“I commend the state for emerging the second overall best in the fiscal performance index in Nigeria and for scoring high in fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability in the use of public resources.It shows zero Tolerance for Corruption and waste of public fund.”
Earlier in his speech, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi expressed joy over the President’s visit, stating that Ebonyians and South East is happy for the two days working visit.
He also noted that his administration has invested a lot in critical infrastructure and agriculture that will trigger investment in the state explaining that all strategies are on ground for wealth and job creation.
The governor further said that the handing of the new medical University will stop medical tourism in Nigeria.
He also demanded for financial assistance to complete the international airport by June this year for the overall development and growth of the state.
He also stated that President Buhari is not a partial president, but has assisted every state to ensure even development in Nigeria.
