The Kaduna State Peace Hunters Association has affirmed that they would have ended the killings in Southern Kaduna if they have given adequate recognition by the State Government.
The association who gave the affirmation during a news briefing held at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kaduna Council on Tuesday added that the growing attacks on the innocent lives by terrorist in Southern Kaduna needs a thorough checkmating.
Speaking through its Treasurer, Malam Usman Muhammad maintained that the state government should borrow a leaf by organizing a Civilian JTF similar to that of Maiduguri in combating terror bedeviling the State.
According to him, the hunters in Kaduna are ready to play their role in ensuring that adequate security of lives and property is paramount in Kaduna, citing the recent establishment of vigilantes by the residents of Igabi Kaduna North and Katu-Dagora Kaduna South as an example of such development.
Malam Muhammad believed that such initiative will eradicate criminal problems in crises communities as they called on state government to meet to find ways eradicating the crises.
He however assured the public that the main aim and objective the organization is to restore peace in Southern Kaduna, Birnin Gwari among other areas that are crises ridden in the State.
Contributing, the Legal Administrator of the Association, Malam Nuhu Massallaci urged Kaduna journalists to remain objective in their reportage on sensitive issues while warning against politicizing the good initiative brought by Hunters for the protection of lives and properties, especially in the crises prone area such as Southern Kaduna.
In his remarks, the Kaduna Council Chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf also lauded the effort of Association for maintaining peaceful co-existence and securing of lives in Kaduna, while assuring that NUJ is ready to partner with any organization bringing unity the state.
