Hostels Construction At Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina Requirement For Conversion  – Masari

Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has said that the award of contract for the construction of male and female hostels at Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina was in fulfillment of requirements for its conversion to the status of a standard teaching hospital.

Alhaji Bello Masari stated this when he hosted President Muhammadu Buhari a lunch at Government House Katsina. 

He said the projects were awarded at over four hundred million Naira, pointing out that his administration has also awarded another contract for the construction of classes and laboratory amounting to over two hundred million Naira at the teaching hospital.

While appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for granting an approval for the conversion of the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina to Federal Teaching Hospital, Governor Aminu Masari said the State Government had provided fifty hectares of land for the construction of a new Federal Medical Centre now allocated to Daura.

As an interim measure he said the State Government had formally released Daura General Hospital to operate as temporary side before the construction of the permanent site.

Alhaji Masari appreciated the establishment of Army reference hospital in the State, saying it would go a long way in providing effective healthcare services to the citizens.

In a related development, Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari has led President Muhammadu Buhari to the commissioning of more projects executed by the state administration.

They include, Government Day Secondary School Musawa, the upgraded general hospital also in Musawa and a 22 kilometer Gora-Makauraci road in Malumfashi Local Government.

Briefing the President before the commissioning of the secondary school, Commissioner of Education Professor Badamasi Lawal Charanchi said the school was one of the seven of its type constructed by Masari Government at various parts of the State.

He said all the seven schools were constructed at the cost of over one billion Naira.

Other projects executed by the administration he said include renovation of over forty five secondary schools, construction of over two thousand additional primary classes, renovation of about two thousand primary schools  at the cost of over thirty seven billion naira among others.

At the commissioning of General Hospital Musawa, Commissioner of Health Engineer Yakubu Nuhu Danja said the hospital was formerly a comprehensive health center before its upgrade.

According to him, the general hospital was intended to carter for the secondary healthcare needs of people across its catchment area.

Engineer Yakubu Danja said the recently introduced basic healthcare provision fund had attracted over 31,740 enrollees from across the State. 

They include orphans and vulnerable, pregnant women and children below the age of five, accident victims and displaced persons among others.

He said the state government had been more committed to ensure access to healthcare services by the citizens of the state.
